During storage and transportation, the risk of fire is prone to occur. However, export transportation is safe under standardized packaging and safe operation procedures. Therefore, you must follow the correct operating procedures and precautions during the operation, and do not conceal the report and export it with ordinary goods, otherwise it will easily cause heavy losses.
Requirements for safe transportation of lithium batteries for export
(1) UN3480 is a lithium-ion battery, and a dangerous package certificate must be provided. The main products are: mobile power supply, energy storage box, car emergency start power supply, etc.
(2) UN3481 is a lithium-ion battery installed in the device, or packaged with the device. Bluetooth speakers and robots with a unit weight greater than 12 kg do not need a dangerous package certificate; bluetooth speakers with a unit price weighing less than 12 kg, sweeping robots, and handheld vacuum cleaners need to provide a dangerous package certificate.
(3) Equipment and vehicles powered by UN3471 lithium batteries, such as electric balance cars, electric bicycles, electric scooters, etc., do not need to provide a dangerous package certificate.
(4) UN3091 refers to lithium metal batteries contained in equipment or lithium metal batteries (including lithium alloy batteries) packed together with equipment.
5) Non-restricted lithium batteries and non-restricted lithium battery goods do not need to provide a dangerous package certificate.
Materials need to be provided before shipment
(1) MSDS: Material Safety Data Sheets literal translation is chemical safety instructions. This is a technical specification, non-certification and non-certification declaration.
(2) Transportation appraisal report: The cargo transportation appraisal report is derived from MSDS, but it is not completely the same as MSDS. It is a simplified form of MSDS.
(3) UN38.3 test report + test summary (lithium battery products), test report – non-lithium battery products.
(4) Packing list and invoice.
Lithium battery sea export packaging requirements
(1) Lithium batteries must have completely sealed individual inner packaging to achieve waterproof and moisture-proof effects. Separate them with blister or cardboard to ensure that each battery will not collide with each other.
(2) Cover and protect the positive and negative electrodes of the lithium battery to avoid short circuits or short circuits caused by contact with conductive materials.
(3) Ensure that the outer packaging is strong, safe and reliable, and meets the safety test requirements of UN38.3;
(4) The outer packaging of lithium battery products also needs to be strong and packed in wooden boxes;
(5) Affix accurate dangerous goods labels and battery labels on the outer packaging, and prepare corresponding documents.
Lithium battery export process by sea
1. Business Quotation
Explain precautions, prepare materials, and provide accurate quotations. Place an order and book space after confirming the quotation.
2. Warehouse receipt
According to the packaging requirements before delivery, UN3480\unrestricted lithium batteries are packed in wooden boxes, and the warehouse receipts are printed.
3. Delivery into warehouse
There are two ways to send the warehouse, one is to send the warehouse by the customer. One is that we arrange door-to-door delivery;
4. Check the data
Check the product packaging, and if it meets the requirements, it will be successfully put into the warehouse. If it does not meet the requirements, the customer needs to communicate with the customer service, provide a solution, repackage and pay the corresponding guarantee fee.
5. Collection
The quantity of goods to be collected and the planning of booking space, and the goods are packed into wooden boxes and wooden frames.
6. Cabinet loading
Cabinet loading operation, safe and standardized operation. To ensure that the goods will not fall and collide, a row of wooden boxes or wooden frames are separated by wooden bars.
