From toys to vehicles, electric scooters are on the road

The “last mile” is a difficult problem for most people today. At the beginning, shared bicycles relied on green travel and the “last mile” to sweep the domestic market. Nowadays, with the normalization of the epidemic and the green concept deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the shared bicycles that focus on the “last mile” have gradually become a situation where there are no bikes to ride.

Taking Beijing as an example, according to the “2021 Beijing Traffic Development Annual Report”, the proportion of Beijing residents walking and cycling will exceed 45% in 2021, which is the highest point in the past five years. Among them, the number of bicycle riding exceeds 700 million, an increase The magnitude is huge.

However, in order to control the healthy development of the industry, the Beijing Transportation Commission implements a dynamic total regulation on the scale of Internet rental bicycles. In 2021, the total number of vehicles in the central urban area will be controlled within 800,000 vehicles. The supply of shared bicycles in Beijing is in short supply, and this is by no means an area in Beijing. Many provincial capitals in China have similar problems, and everyone urgently needs a perfect “last mile” means of transportation.

“Electric scooters are an inevitable choice to improve the layout of short-term transportation business”, Chen Zhongyuan, CTO of Nine Electric, has repeatedly mentioned this issue. But until now, electric scooters have always been a toy and have not become an important part of transportation. This is always a heart problem for friends who want to end the “last mile” dilemma through electric skateboards.

Toy? tool!

According to public information, the production of electric scooters in my country has become the first in the world as early as 2020, and the proportion is still rising, once reaching more than 85%. The domestic skateboarding culture started relatively late as a whole. Until now, many people just think that scooters are just toys for children, and cannot face up to their status and advantages in transportation.

In different traffic trips, we generally think that: less than 2 kilometers is micro-traffic, 2-20 kilometers is short-distance traffic, 20-50 kilometers is branch line traffic, and 50-500 kilometers is long-distance traffic. Scooters are actually the leader in micro-mobility mobility.

There are many advantages of scooters, and compliance with the national energy conservation and emission reduction strategy is one of them. At the Central Economic Work Conference that closed on December 18 last year, “doing a good job in carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” was listed as one of the key tasks this year, and the dual-carbon strategy was constantly mentioned, which is also the country’s future work. One of the key directions is that the field of travel, which is a large energy consumer, is constantly changing. Electric scooters are not only conducive to solving congestion problems, but also consume less energy. They are fully compliant with the “double carbon” transportation tool.

Second, scooters are significantly more convenient than two-wheeled electric vehicles. At present, the electric scooters produced in China are basically within 15 kg, and some folding models can even be within 8 kg. Such a weight can be easily carried by a little girl, which is convenient for long-distance travel tools. last mile”.

The last point is also the most important point. According to the domestic subway passenger regulations, passengers can carry luggage whose size does not exceed 1.8 meters in length, width and height are not more than 0.5 meters, and the weight does not exceed 30 kg. Electric scooters fully comply with this regulation, that is to say, commuters can bring scooters to the subway without restriction to help the “last mile” travel.
